From time to time, I realize writers may find themselves in legitimate need of a few extra points—and I’d like to channel this need into an opportunity for a simple and short artistic experience, one that some writers might even find enjoyable.
Planted Poetry Instructions:
– Compose a short poem of any style. It need not exceed a dozen words. I suggest employing modernist principles.
– Find a scrap of paper—perhaps one that will deliberately pair well with the mood or visual aesthetic of your poem.
– Hand write that poem on your scrap of paper.
– You may sign the poem, initial the poem, or leave it anonymous.
– Plant that poem in a public place for an unknown reader to later find and appreciate.
– Photograph that poem where you’ve left it, and send me the photo for inclusion on the course Instagram.
